Awards Season

Last night was presentation evening at Brickhill. We went last year, of course, when Harry unexpectedly won the Most Improved Player award in the U-11 team. This year we went for the last time, since Harry has decided to retire from the team.

We know the parents of the team much better now and we hope to keep in touch with them since they are a great group to know. The social aspect to the team is a really strong feature.

Karen, along with Andy & Rebecca (and Sarah who wasn't there last night), did a really top-class effort on the Hawks tombola. We were not able to buy any tickets, really, since 80% of the contents was ours to begin with ! If you are reading this blog then there is a fair chance that some of the content came from you originally at a birthday or Christmas !

Karen also helped out with the behind-the-scenes presentation work.

Harry was obviously not in the running for any footballing awards, but Sandra arranged for him to be presented with the matchball, signed by all the playes and coaches etc - which was great. I even got a departing-reporter gift which was a nice thought.

We are sad to see Harry leave the team but we are glad he was part of it for nearly two seasons.

The full report of the award winners etc is on the Hawks Blog.
